Is it a certain book, or a show on television? It could also be a dire fascination with aliens or fairies. You just have to put yourself in your child's shoes and think of what might interest them. There have been various party ideas that quite a number of parents would declare to be winners, on the Internet. Of course, invite some close adult friends and kids of adult friends whose ages are nearer to your child's so he or she will be exposed to other faces and learn to make new friends. Also, if you want to control the number of guests that will be arriving, it won't be rude to include an RSVP on your invitation, even if it's just for an informal children's party. Their accompanying guardians or parents might be polite enough not to tell you outright that your party bombed, but kids will tell you the real score to your face, much to the disappointment of your child, whose benefit was the one you had in mind when you threw the party in the first place. Thus, before you decide to go DIY on the birthday party you're planning, you have to spend some time thinking what kinds of entertainment and activities you will have. It's how you carry out the party that matters. But, of course, getting your guests in costumes would make your party pictures look so much better. Staple to a themed party, and other children's party, for that matter, are the fun games. Again, like the food, you can just rename the games to fit your theme. It's just that for many years birthday parties have been marked as important events in children's lives, that it seems odd if you, as a parent, do not throw one for your child at least once. Now you don't have to spend so much to pull off a fun and memorable children's party. It only takes a little creativity and ingenuity to plan a party that would have your kid and his or her guests talking about it for days and weeks after. Children judge food initially based on their appearance, so you might want to make them enticing. Enticing, for kids, means cartoony and colorful, so you can go play with food coloring if you want. Blue spaghetti? Why not? It may look icky for adults, but it could the one big factor that would get your young guests to devour it.
