The term Bollywood has been incorrectly used because of its rising popularity. Technically, it is only a part of the Indian film industry and should not be confused for the totality of the Indian entertainment scene. At present Bollywood is regarded as the largest film producing body in all of India and has slowly clawed its way into becoming one of the respectable film producing centers across the globe. Aside from the fact that not every Indian speaks Hindi (and many Indians having no desire whatsoever to learn Hindi), the country gets by with English, the second official language sanctioned by the Indian constitution. In India, serious business is usually done in English. However, Hindi is the official language of the most backward of Indian states (Bihar, Rajastran, MP) where there is a large number of illiterates. It is then followed by the likes of Raudra or anger and dangerous, Hasya which stands for happy or smile, Vibhatsaya which equates to disgust, and Veera or heroism. Other Rasas are Karuna or pathos and compassion, Bhayanak or fear and anxiety, Adabhuta or wonder and curiosity, and Shanta or contemplative and peaceful. Do not be among those people who instantly say, That is too hard and I cannot learn that even without trying out first. If you would be pessimistic in the beginning, you surely would find it very hard to learn Hindi. Experts advise learners to be optimistic and to believe that the challenge could be easily handled. First of all, Hindi is actually synonymous with the Indo-Aryan language. It is actually a dialect spoken by up to 41% of total population in India. It is specifically the main language used in central and northern India, which are often referred to as the Hindi belt. It is one of the only two official languages that are used by the federal government of India. You could logically understand several Hindi words used by movie characters by looking at and analyzing their actions and movements. As you learn as many Hindi words and sentences every day, intend to practice using the language as often as possible. Read simple Hindi sentences and try to understand the gist based on your current stock knowledge about the language.
